Have you seen a T.V. commercial or an online ad that displayed a new model vehicle and fallen in love with it?
Are you considering upgrading your vehicle to this new model based on how it looked in the advertisement? Some do, but it is not advised.
That's not to say you can't like the way your possible vehicle looks, of course you want one that fits your style, but, it shouldn't be the biggest reason you are looking to buy new, and it shouldn't play a heavy role in your buying decisions.
Look at the car as a whole. Check under the hood, learn the tire size, see where the cupholders are placed, and see how the backseats fold down.
Ask yourself questions, like, Is there enough space for friends and family to sit comfortably? What is the safety rating? And gas mileage?
Research as much as you can about the vehicle prior to walking onto the car lot. The more you know, the better.
Clearly understand what comes standard on the vehicle and what the options are in order to avoid any extra or unnecessary costs.
Get to know the infotainment center, how it works, and if it is driver friendly.
Get to know it all. Once you feel comfortable with the knowledge you have gained from your online research, head down to your local dealership.
Bring along a friend or family member to talk you through some buying decisions..
Take the vehicle for a test drive on different types of roads and park with it as well.
Most importantly, make sure it fits into your budget. Don't get surprised by the monthly payments, which include insurance, maintenance, and gas costs.
Cars are more than just eye candy. Fall in love with your next vehicle, inside and out!
